Jon Hamm, Jennifer Westfeldt: What 'Mad Men' Star's Girlfriend Sees In Him (Besides The Obvious)

What Jon Hamm's Girlfriend Sees In Him (Besides The Obvious)

"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm and his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, have been together for more than 14 years and even though everyone asks the couple about the secret to their longevity, Jennifer says they don’t have a good answer. She goes on to clarify that they are just like everyone else when it comes to love. “Relationships take work,” Jennifer told me on the set of "New York Live." “You don’t take each other for granted.” So what is it exactly that attracts her to one of the world's handsomest men, apart from the obvious? “He’s the funniest person I know,” says Jennifer. “He’s the sweetest guy I know. He’s brilliant. He’s my best friend. While Jon prefers the West Coast, Jen makes it clear she’s a New York lady, so they split their time between both. And although they do not have children, they are both fascinated by watching their friends have babies. “We wrote the film ["Friends with Kids"] in response to so many of our friends becoming parents, and it's this incredibly profound transition. You are sort of watching your friends and losing them one by one because they kind of go underground for a while when they are new parents,” says Jennifer. “We were interested in that transition.” She is now in New York getting ready to star with Greg Kinnear in Stephen Belber’s play "The Power of Duff," at Vassar College Powerhouse Theatre.
