Bill Murray Hall Of Fame Speech: South Atlantic League Honors Comedian (VIDEO)

WATCH: Bill Murray's Hall Of Fame Speech

It's no secret comedy legend Bill Murray is a passionate baseball fan. While Murray is renowned for turning up just about everywhere and at anytime, it's hardly a surprise to see him at the ballpark. He recently ran the bases at Wrigley Field after throwing the ceremonial first pitch and even entertained the crowd during a rain delay at a Charleston RiverDogs game. Murray is a co-owner of the Class-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.

But perhaps none of those moments convey his passion for the game more than his rambling yet sporadically poignant South Atlantic League Hall of Fame induction speech on Tuesday, when he talked about going to Wrigley Field as a kid for the first time.

"I had no idea what a baseball park looked like," he said. "So when I got into Wrigley field and I went through the turnstile, just before I hit the stairs that would take me up to the field level, my brother Brian said 'Billy wait.' And he covered my eyes. And he walked me up the steps. Then he took my hands away and I saw the most beautiful building I had ever seen in my life."
