Steve Aoki, 'Control Freak' Video: Electro-Funk Track Features Blaqstarr & My Name Is Kay (EXCLUSIVE)

There was a time when Steve Aoki was the prince of a small but dedicated group of electro-dance fans in Los Angeles, playing host to weekly parties at Cinespace and living a life documented through the camera of nightlife photographer Mark "The Cobrasnake" Hunter.

Times have changed. Aoki -- the owner of Dim Mak Records (Joachim Garraud, Felix Cartel, Datsik, etc) -- now spends much of his time touring internationally, bringing his long, jet-black hair and cake-throwing antics to festival stages around the world.

And though he's now known primarily for mixing raucous pop house (of the bro-tank variety), he has his softer moments. "Control Freak," a song featuring production from Baltimore's Blaqstarr and My Name Is Kay's vocals, is one of these glimpses at Aoki's tender side. The song has a decidedly electro-pop feel, with a little bit of French touch (think Chromeo meets Mr. Oizo) and will fit comfortably on any indie-dance playlist. Trevor McFedries (also known as Yung Skeeter) directed the video, which is premiering exclusively on HuffPost Entertainment.

"This is the funkiest record I've ever produced and I wanted a video to match that," Aoki said in press materials supplied with the video. "We brought it back to the old school with Samm Levine of 'Freaks and Geeks' to bring the comedy and Holly Madison to add that sex appeal. Blaqstarr and Kay gave us the sexy swag and put it over the top."

Madison and Levine make cameos in the video, which recalls Soul Train and '80s VHS.

The single is off of Wonderland, Aoki's debut album from earlier this year. A remix package featuring reworks from Dillon Francis and James Frew will be released June 26. Watch the video above and let us know what you think in the comments. More Aoki below.
