The SCOTUS has basically decided the 2012 presidential election with their Citizens United ruling giving republicans a distinctive, overwhelming advantage. Republicans complain about union spending and influence, but they can't hold a candle to the wellspring and muscle of unlimited corporate money. Make no mistake about it, Romney's crushing war-chest of billions versus Obama's millions will be the defining factor in the upcoming presidential election. Citizens should not complain because they usually get the exact president and administration they deserve. This means that from this point on that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Wall Street and corporate interests with their deep pockets will elect all future presidents and decidedly influence policy. We, the people, allowed this to happen, and now -- we, the people, must learn to live with the consequences.

Where was your touching concern in 2008, when Obama was the first presidential candidate to refuse federal campaign funding, raised hundreds of millions and vastly outspent McCain? I don't recall any liberal outrage then!

For years... with union money and manpower.. Democrats had the advantage...

All that Citizens United has done is level the playing field.... and liberals have been whining about it ever since.

I consider this the same kind of whining that I see when liberals, who have have CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS, NPR and most major city newspapers in their corner, .....whine about Fox News and talk radio.

Get over it.

People will vote for the campaign that gives them the most convincing argument. With Citizens United and the Tea Party's massive grassroots, you just will no longer be able to outspend and out organize your opponents in presenting your arguments.

If the aim of your post was to annoy, you succeeded.

I hadn't made any donations to anyone in this election cycle up till now ( except $50.00 to Scott Walker)..but your post irritated me enough that I just sent Romney $500.00 over the Internet... and I'm an individual, not a corporation.

Comparing the clout and influence peddling of Wall Street bankers and corporate money barons to labor unions and saying its now a level playing field is naive and ridiculous, duh. A handful of billionaires with deep pockets trumps millions of individual campaign contributors, whether TP republican or democrat. There's an old saying, he who has the gold makes the rules and wins elections. This election is not about individuals and Main Street (including you TP acolytes). Shocker, whether you like it or not, it's all about the Wall Street bankers and corporate barons seizing control of our government to promote their own selfish and narrow agenda, which by the way does not include economic growth and job creation. Unless you live under a rock, they already control the House and the Senate and now the SCOTUS like so many nickels and dimes in their pocket. The executive branch is the final piece of the power grab. Look at the big picture. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee.

In America, elections are just items that can be bought and sold to the highest bidders. These bidders knowing that it is a good investment. The bought and paid for politicians will ensure that policies will be shaped to benefit those bidders. No matter what the cost they will end up profitable. It is very sad that this form of government, which people have died for up until this very day, has devolved into no more than a trinket for the marketplace benefiting a very few.

As a former Republican, I am adamantly opposed to Super Pacs. For the life of me, I cannot understand why we have allowed Super Pacs to operate the way they do. It opens the door for the wealthiest of the wealthy to try to buy off as many politicians as possible, and despite some controls, it leaves the door open for non-Americans to funnel money to these groups.

Obama is the one who said he would not take super Pac money.

For years the Democrats have also taken so much money from wealthy people in Hollywood and from the fincial crowd. The believed they did not need Super Pac.

Now Obama is running scared because of his failed policies is prevent donors from sending in donations, he now want super Pac Money. Boy he lives up to his promises. Oh that right Obama has failed on all the economic promises he gave us in 2008.

No the Democrats are starting to make excuses for every thing.
