Woody Allen's Love Of Europe, Jazz Spoofed By Funny Or Die (VIDEO)

Back when he made "Annie Hall," Woody Allen poked fun at the way New Yorkers are perceived by the rest of the country as "left-wing, communist, Jewish, homosexual pornographers." But three decades later, Allen's films have found a new way to alienate middle America: By being set in Europe.

Funny Or Die took on his penchant for overseas adventures with a fake trailer that ostensibly parodies last year's "Midnight in Paris" and his new one, "To Rome with Love," which opened in select cities this weekend. Actors playing Allen and Woody-surrogates Jesse Eisenberg and Owen Wilson sit in an Italian villa, commiserating about the lack of sophistication held by their outrageously gorgeous American girlfriends.

"Yesterday I was talking to my beautiful, much younger wife, and she had absolutely no idea who Louie Armstrong is!" Woody exclaims. If only she loved jazz as much as a typical European hooker!

Allen is planning on returning to the U.S. with his next film, which tentatively will star Cate Blanchett, Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay and Michael Emerson. But despite how funny this FOD video is, Woody's foray to Europe has hardly been alienating -- his first foray in the country, "Match Point," provided a career boost, and last year's "Midnight in Paris" was his highest-grossing film of all time.
