Clean Your Patio Chair Cushions In Time For Fourth Of July

How To Stop Mold From Dampening Your 4th Of July Bash

Your patio is an entertaining hot spot in the summer, especially during the Fourth of July weekend. And while we know you've got your decorations ready and we bet you're stocking up on delicious food, there is one thing you need to do to have a successful bash: clean your patio cushions. Your seats get dirty over time (especially with all the rain this spring) and can begin to smell because of mold and mildew, which can be very unpleasant to guests. Luckily, we've got an easy tip on how to keep those cushions fresh.

First, in a spray bottle, mix one teaspoon of laundry detergent, and one teaspoon of Borax and one quart of warm water. Next saturate both sides of the cushions with the solution. You'll want to make sure you're spraying an ample amount in the cushion creases to ensure mold and mildew removal. After letting the solution sit on the seat for 20 minutes, rinse it off, preferably with a garden hose to really blast away any excess dirt. Finally, let your cushions dry and in no time you'll have patio furniture that'll make any guest want to sit and watch the fireworks.
