Eddie Vedder, 'The Waiting': Tom Petty & Pearl Jam Frontman Perform In Amsterdam (VIDEO)

WATCH: Vedder & Petty Team Up

Eddie Vedder is currently touring Europe with Pearl Jam, but the singer took a break from his frontman duties to help out an old friend: Tom Petty.

Petty was in Amsterdam performing with his band, The Heartbreakers, and at the end of a show on Sunday night, Vedder hopped on stage to sing "The Waiting" and "American Girl" with the veteran rocker.

Vedder has covered Petty's work during his own concerts, notably the track "I Won't Back Down." The 47-year-old singer sounded perfectly effortless while singing "The Waiting," which will hopefully wind up as part of Pearl Jam's cover rotation. (The band often covers tracks from Neil Young and The Who.)

Watch "The Waiting" above and "American Girl" below. Vedder and Pearl Jam are in Amsterdam on Tuesday and Wednesday; the band tours Europe throughout the next two weeks. Vedder will tour Europe and parts of the U.S. by himself throughout the rest of 2012.
