Lauren Manzo Diet: 'Real Housewives Of New Jersey' Star Wants To Drop 35 Pounds

'Real Housewives Of New Jersey' Star Wants To Drop 35 Pounds

Those following this particularly tempestuous season of "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" know that the only relief we get from Teresa-Melissa drama has been the storyline of Lauren Manzo's struggle with her weight. ("It's like an addict, you're not going to get better unless you truly want to, and maybe I'm just not ready right now," Manzo had previously told mom Caroline on the show.)

And while the storyline has spurred a litany of creative terms of endearment from Caroline ("chunk-a-munk"), we didn't realize that, presumably after the taping, the 24-year-old had shed 20 pounds last September, after getting a lap band -- an adjustable gastric band that cinches the top part of the stomach, controlling food consumption.

Factor in another 10 pounds lost from her heavily televised egg-white diet, and that's 30 pounds that Manzo has dropped -- but she told Us Weekly that she's ready for 35 more pounds, despite having recently quit her protein diet on the show.

Now the newly trim Manzo is whistling a different tune. "When I hit 120, I'll decide if I want to go to 115," she told the publication. "I'm motivated. Hopefully, by the end of the summer, I'll be in a bikini. I've never worn a bikini in my life!"
