Dwight Howard Rumors: Houston Rockets Reportedly In Mix

The Dwightmare Continues

Let the Dwight Howard rumors begin.. again.

With the 2012 NBA Draft rapidly approaching, the attention has turned back to the All-Star center who made a "wish list" of teams he wanted to be traded to before opting to stay with Orlando through the remainder of last season and potentially for the 2012-13 season.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported last week that Howard will push for a trade to the Brooklyn Nets (one of the teams on his "wish list") before the draft on Thursday. According to Wojnarowski, Howard wants his arrival to come with time to allow Deron Williams to re-sign with the Nets.

But there is another team that might be in the mix to land Howard, for at least the 2012-13 season. According to ESPN's Chad Ford and Marc Stein, Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is trying to work some magic (pun intended) and move up in the draft in order to package a deal for Howard.

Per the ESPN report, the Rockets are willing to trade for Howard without agreeing to a contract extension.

Morey might want to hold off on that potential deal though. Besides the fact Houston isn't Dallas, Brooklyn or Los Angeles (Howard's desired destinations), David Aldridge reported on Monday that there's "not a chance" Howard stays with Houston beyond this season if traded there.

Apparently, working in the fourth largest city in America under the tutelage of Hakeem Olajuwon wouldn't be enough to sway Howard to stay in Houston.

With Howard reportedly being disinclined to stay in Houston and the Nets' lack of pieces to offer Orlando, all signs seem to be pointing to another season of Dwight drama in Orlando.
