11 Bad Habits We Picked Up From Our iPhones

Happy birthday, iPhone. Though you turned only 5 years old this week, you've accomplished much in your short lifespan.

"Today Apple is reinventing the phone," late Apple CEO Steve Jobs said when he unveiled the first iPhone in 2007, per Engadget. "Every once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything," he continued as he stood on the Macworld stage delivering the keynote speech.

Since then, Strategy Analytics reports, Apple has sold 250 million of these devices within the last five years, meaning sales have generated some 150 billion for the company. The iPhone is the world's most popular smartphone, helping its users with everything from communicating with friends and consuming media to conducting bank transactions.

While we couldn't imagine life without our iPhones, we're also admittedly a little obsessed with them. In a recent study, it was found 58 percent of Americans feel the need to check their phone every hour of the day. And that's not even the worst of it.

We've compiled a list of the worst habits we've developed because of our iPhones. Have a look (and a laugh) at our expense, then tell us in the comments if your smartphone affects your behavior.
