'Auction Kings': Marilyn Monroe Early Screen Test Sells For Only $375 (VIDEO)

Young Marilyn Monroe Screen Test On 'Auction Kings'

It was quite a find on "Auction Kings" (Thu., 9 p.m. ET on Discovery) when a seller brought in a rare and early screen test for one Norma Jeane Baker. The future Marilyn Monroe was just 20-years old on the film, well before she achieved her later stardom.

But while the auction team was pretty excited by the find, as well as seeing the young Monroe smiling into the camera once they'd transferred the footage to DVD, it turned out the buying audience wasn't nearly as enthusiastic.

The tape wound up selling for a paltry $375, which was certainly a steal for whoever won it. It would seem that a find like that should probably have hit the national stage where it could find cinema enthusiasts and Marilyn Monroe collectors, rather than the random audience that happened to show up for a single auction in Atlanta.

Catch new episodes of "Auction Kings" on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on Discovery.
