Liam Hemsworth Accidentally Says He and Miley Cyrus Are 'Married' (VIDEO)

With rumors already swirling that Miley Cyrus and fiance Liam Hemsworth are planning to tie the knot this very weekend, the "Hunger Games" star better learn to watch what he says.

The couple only announced their engagement on June 6, but a tweet from Cyrus about how she couldn't wait for next week, because it will be filled with happiness, prompted some media outlets to speculate the two were going to be exchanging vows as early as this weekend.

A rep for the actor denied nuptials would be taking place so soon, but it didn't help that at Wednesday’s Australians In Film Awards & Benefit Dinner, Hemsworth slipped up and accidentally said they were already married.

While onstage accepting his Breakthrough Award, the 22-year-old brought up his big break in Hollywood -- the 2010 film "The Last Song," which co-starred Cyrus.

“I was fortunate enough to get called back in to read with my now-fiancée, who I recently got engaged to,” Hemsworth told the audience. “And we read together and fell in love and now we’re married," he said before quickly realizing his error, adding, “Well, not married yet but we will be.”

Wednesday marked the couple's first public appearance since announcing their engagement, and Miley opened up on the red carpet, revealing what she loves about Liam.

"[Liam] doesn't really care about the fame part of it, which is exactly what I love [about him]. I just love the art of it and making what we both enjoy, and what makes us really happy," the 19-year-old told reporters at the event, adding that Liam's work ethic also drew her to him.

"My Dad has always been a really hard worker so I like when men work hard," Cyrus said. "I always work really hard, so it's good to have someone that is as passionate at what they do and wants to be great at what they do, instead of just being okay. We always strive to have 130 percent."
