Mexico Explosion Wounds 7 In Nueva Laredo

CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico — Authorities say an explosion in a pickup truck has wounded seven people outside city hall in the border city of Nuevo Laredo.

Officials said that a grenade went off around 11:15 a.m. Friday in the truck parked outside the main municipal building of the city across from Laredo, Texas. The seven victims were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, a statement from local officials said. The facade of the city building was damaged, along with nearby cars.

Nuevo Laredo and the surrounding state of Tamaulipas have been the scene of brutal battles between the Zetas cartel and its former ally, the Gulf cartel, which is now allied with the Zetas' biggest rival, the Sinaloa cartel led by Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.

I live in laredo tx...and let me tell ya...I miss mexico man. In the past I would hope the crime crosses over so that the US of A would intervene and tear it up over there. Guess what? Its been happening and the US just keeps their hands to themselves. Everybody is in on it. Sad Sad never ending story.

In Mexico politicians are warned to accept 'plata or plomo'-meaning 'silver or lead'. Take a bribe or take a bullet. It discourages most of the potential political talent. Even if you take the plata-some rival drug gang may still give you the plomo. Pretty much how our state department recruits allies in our never ending search for freedom, justice and human rights. In America all our politicians always take the plata, always.

Does anybody know where Raymond Davis is? You remember our crack shot diplomat who shot two Pakistani citizens in broad daylight, in front of hundreds of witnesses. Has he grown a large, dark mustache and changed his name to Juan? Does he have the protection of the Zetas? Can his timely assassinations and explosions, influence the Mexican elections?

On 10/01/11 Davis was arrested in Douglas County Co. for beating and severely injuring an older man in a dispute over a parking space.
