The Wirecutter:

My favorite multi-speed vibrator for people just getting into sex toys is the silver bullet vibrator. It's only $10.

(Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm just going to assume that if you're reading The Wirecutter for sex toy advice, you're just getting started. But we have more sophisticated recommendations later in this article, too.)

Regardless of which vibrator or sex toy you determine is right for you, it is important to find one that is Phthalate free and nontoxic. In addition to finding one that is nontoxic, there are other health factors involved that can make a sex toy unhealthy such as using the wrong lubricant with a sex toy. Doing this can cause it to chemically melt. Silicone blend sex toys used with silicone lubricants is an example of this. Also, storing sex toys together and having them touch can also cause chemical interactions and melting, depending on what materials they are made of. This does not even begin to delve into the toxins in personal lubricants such as parabens, which have been linked to lowering sperm count in men, unhealthy hormone changes in women and even cancer. Even nontoxic ingredients in lubricants can cause issues. For example, glycerin lubricants can make yeast infections more likely.

Here is an article that will help educate consumers on how to determine what is safe and what is not-
