BETHESDA, Md. -- Tiger Woods spent much of Thursday's first round at AT&T National scrambling to stay around even par, much like any course set up for the U.S. Open.

Tiger will take to the tee much earlier on Friday, set to get on the course at 7:50 a.m. EDT with former champs Nick Watney (1 under) and K.J. Choi (8 over).
