Every weekend we bring you a round up of either the best LGBT moments from the week before -- our Something To Celebrate series -- or, as you'll see below, the worst anti-LGBT stories from the last seven days in our Know Thine Enemy feature.
You can think of Know Thine Enemy as a primer filled with the anti-LGBT rhetoric being leveled against us, as a reminder of how far we still have to go, and maybe even as a chance to have a laugh (because let's be honest, some of this stuff is so ridiculous it's pretty hilarious).
Check out the stories we covered this week below -- all in one convenient slideshow -- and let us know who you think the biggest enemy of the LGBT community was in the comments section.

Chuck Norris Supports Boy Scouts's Anti-Gay Policies, Suggests 'Pro-Gay' Obama Is Pushing Agenda
Chuck Norris has never been one to mince words. Now, the outspoken actor and staunch conservative is expressing his support for the Boy Scouts of America's (BSA) infamously anti-gay policies. In an Op-Ed for the pro-ammunition website Ammoland.com, the 72-year-old star of "Walker, Texas Ranger" slammed James Turley, a high-profile member of the BSA's governing board who has vowed to "work from within" to change the organization's policy of excluding gay participants. Norris openly questions Turley's initiatives, going so far as to suggest that it's the BSA officer's ties to "pro-gay" President Obama are the motivating factor. Read the full story here.
'In Our Mothers' House,' Book About Lesbian Family Restricted By Utah School District
he American Civil Liberties Union has taken issue with Davis School District for requiring parental permission for children to check out a homosexual advocacy book from the Utah district's elementary school libraries, according to LifeSiteNews.com. The book in question, "In Our Mothers' House," tells the story of children being raised by a lesbian couple. It first sparked controversy in January, when a mother complained to Windridge Elementary School after her kindergarten-age son brought the book home. A petition was circulated that 25 parents signed in protest. Read the full story here.
One Million Moms Condemns Oreo Cookies For Gay Pride Support
In what can only be described as the week's least surprising news, the conservative anti-gay group behind this spring's scrapped JCPenney boycott is now targeting Oreos for the cookie brand's controversial endorsement of Pride month. In a post titled "Oreo -- No Longer Favorite Cookie," members of One Million Moms are condemning a now-iconic image which showed the cookie filled with rainbow-colored creme. The image, which was praised by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocates, was unveiled last weekend on Oreo's official Facebook page and quickly went viral on a number of social media platforms after its release. "The cookie maker is quick to point out that the picture is simply an ad, and doesn't depict a true product," the group notes on its website. "But it announced to American consumers where it stands on the controversial 'gay' marriage issue nonetheless. Homosexuals are weighing in, hoping Oreo makes the fake cookie real." Read the full story here.

Teacher Claims School Suspended Son For Being Gay, Fired Her For Supporting Him
Sharon Wright, a teacher in Harrisburg, Pa., has filed a lawsuit against Covenant Christian Academy accusing the administration of suspending her son for being gay and firing her for not forcing him to renounce the "sin," Courthouse News Service reports. In the 30-page complaint, Wright claims that after the high school senior announced his sexual orientation on a blog, school Headmaster Joseph Sanelli told the family their son should remain at home until a meeting could be arranged. During the meeting with Sanelli and other administrators, Wright claims she was told her son would be "permanently suspended from school" until he "renounced his sin." Furthermore, the plaintiff claims Rich Raynor, a school board member, lashed out and said there was something wrong with the high school student. Read the full story here.
Salvation Army Official Implies Gays Should Be Put To Death In Interview
An Australia-based Salvation Army official is catching heat for implying in an interview that gays should be put to death. Truth Wins Out blogger John Becker and The Atlantic are just two of the media outlets reporting that Major Andrew Craibe, a media relations director for one of the Salvation Army's Australian branches, had the following exchange with Aussie journalists Serena Ryan and Pete Dillon:
Ryan: According to the Salvation Army, [gay people] deserve death. How do you respond to that, as part of your doctrine? Craibe: Well, that's a part of our belief system. Ryan: So we should die. Craibe: You know, we have an alignment to the Scriptures, but that's our belief.
Truck Driver Ditches Community Group After Learning His Truck Would Be In Pride Parade
An Ohio truck driver is at the epicenter of a local controversy after ditching a community AIDS group upon learning he and his trailer were going to be participating in a gay pride parade in Cleveland. As Fox 8 is reporting, the driver allegedly yelled obscenities before storming off when he learned the news, despite the fact that his company had volunteered its services to provide the group a float for the parade. "When the driver realized that he was going to be driving for the gay pride parade, he then stormed off and drove away, leaving us without a float this morning," Judith Pindell, director of public policy for the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland told the news channel. Read the full story here.
U.S. Navy Submarine Hazing Sparked By Gay Jokes, Homosexuality
A Navy hazing case that led to the firing of the top enlisted officer aboard a nuclear submarine was sparked by gay jokes about a sailor who said another man tried to rape him while in a foreign port, according to an investigative report obtained by The Associated Press. The report sheds light on a hazing case that led to the reassignment of Master Chief Machinist's Mate Charles Berry, who had been serving as "chief of the boat" on the Kings Bay, Ga.-based USS Florida. Read the full story here.
Liberty Counsel Radio Host Slams ENDA's Protections Of LGBT People As 'Insanity'
"We had another word for something like this: it's called insanity." That's how Steve Crampton described the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) on Liberty Counsel's "Faith and Freedom" program this week, Right Wing Watch reported. Of course, the conservative radio host didn't stop there, finding fault with the fact that Kylar Broadus, founder of the Trans People of Color Coalition who is openly transgender, was allowed to testify on behalf of the legislation. Read the full story here.

Online homophobia has reached a new low in Italy where a Facebook page circulated this month with the declaration: "Aborting a gay (fetus) is an act of faith." Rome daily La Repubblica reported that the Italian language Facebook account was opened on June 19 with this false claim: "Thanks to the miracle of science we are able to impede (homosexuality)...Yes, I know that it is terrible to abort the poor babies affected by the gene of sodomy. Read the full story here.

Illinois Lesbian Couple Denied Use Of Reception Hall Because Of Manager's Religious Beliefs
An Illinois-based lesbian couple is searching for a new wedding venue after the manager of one historic banquet hall told them she wouldn't help "celebrate that sin." As ABC 7 News is reporting, Kristen Stewart, the manager of the University Club in downtown Moline, says she won't host a reception for Taylor Shumaker and her partner of three years -- or any other same-sex couple, for that matter -- because of her religious beliefs. "Because marriage is a covenant that God created for man and woman, then, as a biblical Christian, I cannot help them enter into or celebrate that sin," Stewart, who is married to the owner of the club, told the news channel. Schumaker claimed Stewart offered to take her on a tour of the club this week, but first asked if ''he" (meaning her fiancé) would be accompanying her. Noted Schumaker: "I said, 'It's a woman,' and she said, 'Oh, we don't rent to homosexual couples.'" Read the full story here.
