Alec Baldwin Donates $1 Millon To New York Philharmonic With Profit From Capital One Commercials

Baldwin Donates $1 Million To New York Philharmonic Days After Wedding To Yoga Instructor

The New York Philharmonic announced they had received a $1 million donation from Alec Baldwin, just two days after his star-studded wedding to yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas.

The Wall Street Journal reports Baldwin's donation comes from his earnings as a Capital One spokesman, championing the bank's Venture Rewards credit card. (See video below.)

The gift was in honor of Zarin Mehta, the Philharmonic's outgoing president.

The actor has also donated $500,000 to the Roundabout Theatre Company.

Baldwin's gift caps off a month of making headlines for the actor. Earlier this month, before his wedding to Thomas on Saturday, a Daily News' photographer claimed Baldwin had punched him outside of City Hall as he exited a marriage license bureau

Baldwin, who openly embraced Twitter in the past, apparently also deleted his account for the second time on Monday but not before rather dramatically signing off with "It's been fun."

The infamously hotheaded Baldwin recently revealed to Vanity Fair his desires to kill TMZ producer Harry Levin and to "stick a knife in him and gut him and kill him and I wanted him to die breathing his last breath looking into my eyes."

In the WSJ interview discussing the donation to the New York Philharmonic, Baldwin ended on a familiar note, again hinting at a possible future in politics. He strayed away from concrete details but said he'd "at least find a way to help people figure out where the money should go. How uncreative these bastards [in government] can be down there."
