'Django Unchained' BET Awards Trailer: Do You Know What A Bounty Hunter Is? (VIDEO)

WATCH: New Footage From 'Django Unchained' Debuts

"Django Unchained" is probably going to be Christmastime's answer to "Magic Mike": An R-rated, auteur-directed drama that winds up with a "shocking" box office haul -- never mind that anyone who pays attention to box office figures and projections probably expected such lofty numbers in the first place.

A new 60-second spot for the Quentin Tarantino film debuted during the BET Awards on Sunday night, and while the clip shows precious little new footage (beyond BET Awards host Samuel L. Jackson, making his first appearance in the "Django Unchained" marketing materials), it does feature Ennio Morricone's "Ecstacy of Gold." Which is perfect.

"Django Unchained" follows Django (Jamie Foxx), a freed slave-turned-bounty hunter who seeks revenge on the man (Leonardo DiCaprio) who took his wife (Kerry Washington). Christoph Waltz co-stars, but DiCaprio's the one to watch; dude looks like he's having more fun in 10 seconds of "Django Unchained" than in all of "J. Edgar." You probably can't blame him, but still.

"Django Unchained" is out in theaters on Dec. 25.
