Katie Holmes has wasted no time moving on since she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise Friday. Already, the actress has moved out of the apartment that the couple shared together in New York, hired her own security detail and even returned to the public relations agency she retained before her life was changed forever by meeting Cruise.
On the morning she filed for divorce, Katie and daughter Suri, 6, were seen moving out of a new luxury apartment.
"The new apartment complex Katie has been looking at has 21 floors and over 300 apartments," one of the residents tells me. "It has four elevator banks, doorman and concierge service, a fitness center, dry cleaners, its own ATM, storage, expansive roof deck, valet service, garage and even a child's play room."
It has also been home to fashion designer Marc Jacobs, Lance Bass and even Nick Jonas, who rented out a three-bedroom, three-bath duplex, which was listed at $23,000 per month during his run on Broadway.
Holmes was also seen with new security guards, not the ones employed by Cruise to protect his soon-to-be ex-wife and daughter. Most surprising, however, is the fact that Katie has decided to turn back time and return to publicity firm BWR after firing the talented Ina Treciokas, Sarah Jessica Parker's longtime image maker and the person she hired after getting together with Cruise.
"I think she wants to return to a simpler time," one public relations expert tells me. "It looks like she's pretending the last seven years never happened. Running back to the folks that looked after her during her 'Dawson’s Creek' days. It's sad, but often someone's publicist is also their best friend and in times like these, even celebrities want the comfort of what is familiar from their past."
