The first presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney isn't scheduled until Oct. 3, so people who want to see the candidates go toe-to-toe will have to toy around with something else: A political version of Battlebots.
Herobuilders.com, a New Jersey-based company specializing in customized action figures, has just released a version of the old "Rock'em Sock'em Robots" game featuring the heads of Romney and Obama.
They recently came out with "Tanorexic Mom Doll" inspired by Patricia Krentcil, the New Jersey mom lampooned in the media for her allegedly taking her daughter into a tanning booth.
Players mechanically manipulate the robotic candidates by pressing plunger buttons that make them punch each other. When a candidate gets hit with a strong punch, his head pops out from his neck.
The game went sale June 25 in two versions: One that is fully assembled for $99.99, and a recession-special kit at $39.99 that comes with unassembled toys.
