'Katie' Promo: Couric Looks Back On Childhood For Daytime Show (VIDEO)

WATCH: Katie Couric Looks Back

Katie Couric took a walk down memory lane in her latest promo for her new daytime show.

The thirty-second ad, entitled "Katie Looks Back," features Couric reflecting on her upbringing. "I could not having a better childhood," she said in the spot, comparing the experience to "Leave It To Beaver."

The promo shows old photos of Couric with her family at their old house and on the beach, and as a high school cheerleader. She described her family's middle-class roots, recalling that they lived in a "modest house" and "didn't take fancy vacations."

So what about her upbringing got her to where she is today? Couric credited her mom and dad, who also appear in the promo via old footage, for her success. "My parents gave me the confidence to take risks and try new things," she said.

The ad is the Couric's second official promo (the first was released in June), as the show gears up for its debut in the fall. Couric recently revealed some of her dream guests, and executive producer Jeff Zucker have described the syndicated program as a wide-ranging show that runs "the gamut from serious to silly."

"Katie" debuts on Monday, September 10 (check local listings for airtime). Click over to request free tickets for a live taping in New York.
