Man Drives Into Long Beach, Calif Ocean, Screams 'This Is My Beach!' (VIDEO)

Ocean Drive: This Guy Must Have Taken The Wrong Turn At Albuquerque

A lot of people drive their cars to the beach in the summer, but most are happy to park near the ocean -- not in it.

One unidentified driver in Long Beach, Calif., made a big splash recently when he erratically drove into the ocean, cruising into four feet deep water before his white Nissan Maxima finally stopped.

"The beach was crowded. Fortunately, no one was hurt," Long Beach Fire Captain Rich Brandt told the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

Witnesses say the driver, whose name has not been released, was screaming "This is my beach!" and shouting out his Social Security number as he drove around the area.

When the driver finally crashed into the ocean, he tried to swim deeper into the water, but lifeguards managed to pluck him from the surf and hold him until police arrived, the ContraCosta Times reported.

The car was fished out with the help of a backhoe and a tow truck.

The man, who was being held for psychological evaluation, wasn't hurt.
