Ann Romney: Obama Campaign Strategy Is 'Kill' Mitt Romney

Ann Romney accused President Barack Obama's reelection campaign of using a strategy to "kill" Mitt Romney in a joint interview with her husband on Wednesday.

"I feel like all he's doing is saying, 'Let's kill this guy,'" Ann Romney told CBS News, while seated next to her husband. "And I feel like that's not really a very good campaign policy."

The presumptive Republican nominee's wife also refuted Obama's claim that Mitt Romney lacks the compassion one needs to be president. “Number one, they’re not correct. It makes you recognize that they are going to do everything they can to destroy Mitt," she said.

Mitt Romney has struggled with his image throughout his candidacy, consistently branded as out of touch with the American people on account of his wealth and often stiff demeanor.

Last August, Politico reported that the president's aides and advisers were preparing to center Obama's reelection campaign on a "ferocious personal attack" against Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney's record at private equity firm Bain Capital has been at the forefront of the Obama campaign ads, as well as ads by Priorities USA Action, the super PAC backing the president. The message in these ads repeatedly focuses on how Mitt Romney profited by driving companies into bankruptcy and putting Americans out of work.
