'Fraggle Rock' Spin-Off 'The Doozers' In The Works

Yes, it seems that beloved '80s children's program "Fraggle Rock" will have a spin-off, and it'll be filming on the East coast of Canada.

DHX Media (of "Yo Gabba Gabba!" fame) and The Jim Henson Company are teaming up to create "The Doozers," which will focus on the little builders of the caves on "Fraggle Rock." The Doozers are a race of characters who love to work. Clad in construction belts and helmets, they're approximately knee-high to the Fraggles, so they stand about six inches tall. Their building materials are called Doozer sticks, which, paradoxically, are made of radish dust. The Fraggles eat the dust, so the Doozers in turn have more room in which to build -- it's a never-ending cycle.

It's well-known that Doozers and Fraggles don't really get along, so that could make for an interesting plot point.

The original "Fraggle Rock," which aired from 1983-87, was also a Canadian co-production with HBO, the UK's ITV and Canada's own CBC throwing their support behind it.
