This is an example of why I left the Democratic Party. Here Frank and his friends dancing the wedding night away at a Marriott Hotel. As for the reason, they said (Mr. Frank said he liked the convenience for out-of-town guests.) Frank and his boyfriend being able to get married is the result of years of struggle by many gays and lesbians and being fought by very powerful money sources and one of the biggest money source behind this is the Marriott family. The California anti-gay marriage that was passed was the result of the Mormon/Marriott Church. To be a good mormon (and the Marriott's sure are) pay 10% of their income to the church. So here we have the Mormons with their Billions and the Marriotts (who were out front with their anti-gay money and activities) with their Billions actively fighting gay marriage and Barney picks the Marriott Hotel to have his wedding.. I could not believe what I was reading!

Well said. An excellent example of how deep the struggle must go if we are to avoid just accepting more basically meaningless "wins" while the powers-that-be quietly continue their domination. (40+ years since the oil crisis of the 70's and 32 MPG is the best we can do? Really?)

Don't get me wrong, the Frank/Ready wedding is another fantastic step in America's 236 year struggle for individual rights, but the fight is far from over and I believe that a true dedication to freedom includes making informed choices in ALL aspects of life- where to bank, what to purchase (if anything) and even where to hold a beautiful and historic wedding party.
