'Dark Knight Rises' Featurette: Christopher Nolan Promises Massive Spectacle (VIDEO)

WATCH: Go Inside 'Dark Knight Rises'

How do you know "Dark Knight Rises" hype has reached maximum overdrive? Critics and journalists in attendance at a screening last week reportedly gave the film a standing ovation, while the words "Best Picture" were tossed around with reckless abandon. (Not all the "Dark Knight Rises" screenings went smoothly; an IMAX showing on Friday broke halfway through and audience members were forced to come back on Saturday.)

However, as Richard Rushfield noted, the hysterical anticipation for "The Dark Knight Rises" could backfire for Warner Bros. Christopher Nolan's Batman finale doesn't come out until July 20, "plenty of time for the discussion to turn from excitement to scorn before anyone has even seen the film." Somewhere, Lena Dunham and Aaron Sorkin are nodding in agreement.

Still, that's all discussion for another day: Right now, let's wallow in more hype. While Nolan and his Batman stars were enjoying this weekend's "Dark Knight Rises" press junket, Warner Bros. released a 13-minute featurette on "The Dark Knight Rises." Like the 50-page production notes, the video is light on spoilers, but does offer some interesting background on both Nolan's process and John Blake, the character played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Also, Batman/Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) will walk with a cane at one point and make out with Marion Cotillard's Miranda Tate. Also also, can we put Michael Caine in everything? Cool.

Watch the "Dark Knight Rises" featurette above. The film hits theaters on July 20.
