Miami Indie Cinema Roundup: Arthouse Films July 9 To 15

The Victorian Roots Of Lady Sex Toys

The accidental invention of a woman's pocket-sized best friend is portrayed in "Hysteria," screening at Miami-Dade College's Tower Theater. Using the invention of the electrical fan to create vibrations down below, a Victorian-era doctor in England seems to have found the cure to female "anxiety."

Also playing in Miami's indie cinemas are whimsical films such as the animated "A Cat In Paris" and "Tales of the Night" that will mesmerize both children and adults.

Lovers of black and white films should look out for restored screenings of "Children of Paradise" and "The Connection."
