We'll be honest -- when we first started looking into some not-so-traditional uses for watermelon, we had no idea the rabbit hole we were about to go down.

  • Watermelon Dragon

    Reddit user <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/w83yi/my_friend_made_a_dragon_carved_out_of_watermelons/" target="_hplink">jaroberts24</a> calls our attention to this thing of beauty, a dragon made out of carved watermelons.

  • Exploding A Watermelon With Rubber Bands

    If you're tasked with <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/05/watermelon-rubber-bands_n_1651092.html" target="_hplink">making a watermelon explode and you only have rubber bands on hand</a>, you're in luck. This video shows you how to do just that. We wouldn't want to be around for the clean-up, though.

  • Vodka Watermelon

    If you love watermelon and you love vodka, why not combine the two? The classic technique is achieved by cutting a hole in the rind and poking the bottle's nose through it. Then, just sit back while the flesh soaks up the alcohol, cut it open and voila! An instant vodka watermelon.

  • Watermelon Keg

    How can you save money on a keg? Just buy it in the grocery's produce section! With just a few tools, you can make a fully-functioning keg on the cheap. Granted, we can't imagine it holds much liquid.
