Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs announced the birth of the newest member of their family on Wednesday -- a beautiful male reticulated giraffe calf was born at the zoo on July 10, just before 1 a.m.

This birth marks the 195th giraffe birth at the zoo since 1954. "We are very excited about our new bundle of joy," Katie Borremans, spokesperson for the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, told The Huffington Post.

Zoo veterinary staff gave the new little guy an examination Wednesday morning and reported that he is healthy, active and nursing well. Zookeepers intend to let him outside for the first time later this week.

To celebrate, the zoo is offering a special promotion for those who are excited about the zoo's newest resident -- the first 50 people to visit the giraffe feeding hut between this Friday, July 13 and Sunday July 29 will receive a numbered giraffe hoof print taken during the calf's neonatal exam and a photo of the baby. It's the first-ever print of its kind at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
