Andrew Garfield and Robert Pattinson are both young British celebrities who are the faces of huge cult-film franchises -- so it's only natural that they would hate each other, right?
Yes, according to Us Weekly, whose sources claim that the 28-year-old "The Amazing Spider-Man" star can't stand Pattinson.
"Andrew hates that they're put in the same category because they are both English and around the same age," the source explained to the magazine, while another source claims the "Twilight" star has just as much disdain for Garfield.
Both actors recently attented the wedding of a mutual friend, but allegedly spent most of the night ignoring each other, claims a wedding guest. "They don't enjoy hanging out. Andrew considers himself a 'serious actor' and sees Rob as the equivalent of a cheesy boy bander because of 'Twilight,'" explained the witness.
There are plenty of Hollywood feuds, but there appears to be a suspicious trend in allegations that pit "Twilight" cast members against the stars of other blockbuster franchises.
In March, "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence made sure to clear up rumors that she and "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart were feuding.
"I wrote her an email because there was this huge, like, article about a 'Twilight' and 'Hunger Games' feud, and we've never met before and never spoken. There were all these, like, fake quotes from me that were actually hilarious," Lawrence told "Access Hollywood." "Some of [the quotes] were from my 'pal' and 'sources.' It was hilarious. When I was reading it, I was cracking up."
Lawrence's story illustrates how easily these feuds are created, plus Garfield is not the first actor with whom Pattinson has supposedly feuded. In 2010, "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe also dispelled reports that he and Pattinson were at odds, and in 2012 he had nothing but kind things to say about the 26-year-old actor.
"[Pattinson is] a sex symbol,” Radcliffe told Premiere.fr. “He’s sexy and just needs to do his brooding look for girls to fall.”
A rep for Garfield declined to comment, and requests for comment from Pattinson's reps were not immediately returned.
