D.C.'s Proof Named One Of The Country's Sexiest Bathrooms By Zagat

LOOK: Check Out This Sexy Bathroom

Which D.C. restaurant made it onto Zagat's list of the country's sexiest bathrooms?

It's Proof, at 8th and G streets NW. Zagat gave Proof's bathrooms a "9" on its "Sex-o-meter rating":

The men's bathrooms at this wine-centric New American hot spot are covered in photos of naked women and its bathroom sink fixture is a sculpture of a naked woman. Scandalous!

Proof's Sexy Bathroom

In last winter's Washington City Paper story on D.C.'s "smutty" restaurant bathrooms, Chris Shott wrote Proof's bathroom was inspired by a formatively sexy New York restaurant loo:

When [Proof owner Mark] Kuller decided to open Proof, which debuted in 2007, he wanted to do some sort of homage to his beloved Montrachet restroom. “I wasn’t really doing anything other than taking something that I always enjoyed when I went to a restaurant and figured other men would enjoy it at this restaurant,” he says. “But I didn’t want to copy them, so I didn’t want to have the same photo.” He spent hours searching for a comparable backside to display. Eventually, he came across the works of photographer Christian Coigny. Two “beautiful shots” caught his eye: one bare-assed beauty standing upright and another lying on a bed. Now both butts hover over the flushers at Proof. (The leggy lady wallpapered, at the suggestion of Kuller’s architect, Griz Dwight, along the opposite side of the room, is originally the work of some anonymous artist, Kuller notes.)

D.C. chef José Andrés won a spot in the Zagat list, too, though not for one of his restaurants in the nation's capital. The Bazaar in Los Angeles won a "Sex-o-meter rating" of 7.
