Christina T. Smith, Teen, Drops Out Of Hahnville High School Due To Life-Threatening Bullying (VIDEO)

Christina T. Smith, a 16-year-old former student at Hahnville High School in St. Charles, La., says she was forced to drop out of school after constant bullying became life-threatening, WWL-TV reports.

According to the station, Smith was hospitalized in April when a student struck her in the face multiple times. From there, however, it got even more violent.

"They pulled me from out the car and they grabbed my hair, and one of them tripped me -- I don't know who tripped me -- and that just led me to falling on the ground and they just started kicking me on my face," Smith told the station, adding that some of them used brass knuckles. "I thought it was going to be my last day."

While two teens were charged with disturbing the peace following that incident, the harassment continued online -- something Smith's family told WWL-TV the school did nothing to stop.

"They said, to them that's not considered bullying, not even harassment, because [the teens] used [Smith's] nickname [in the tweets]," Rondalyn Williams said, according to WWL-TV.

Before she left the school, Smith was allegedly on track to get a free college education. Now she's working toward her GED at a local community college.

"It's not fair that I'm not able to walk across the stage. Just getting a GED, that's not fair at all," Smith told WWL-TV.

Back in April, 13-year-old Rachel Ehmke from Mantorville, Minn., hanged herself after her parents say months of bullying became too much.

According to KARE-TV, two days before her suicide, Ehmke received a text message that may have pushed her over the edge.

"It was pretty explicit. Something to the effect of that Rachel was a slut and to get her to leave the Kasson-Mantorville School, forward this to everyone you know," parent Chris Flannery told the station.

KMSP-TV reports her parents found a note from the seventh grader after her death.
