'Community': Jeff's Dad Casting Possibilities For Season 4 From Joel McHale At Comic-Com 2012

Who Does Joel McHale Want To Play Jeff's Dad?

Jeff's dad is joining "Community" in Season 4. But who will play the highly-anticipated character?

At Comic-Con on Friday, the "Community" cast and new showrunners talked about what's to come when the show returns this fall on a new night and Joel McHale specifically discussed the arrival of his character's father.

Before the panel in the press room, McHale told journalists he's "very excited" to find how who his character's dad is and offered his thoughts on who should play the part.

"Channing Tatum would be great; Jessica Biel would be a great father for me; anybody from the cast of 'Green Lantern,' really. People have talked about Bill Murray because my character, his last name is based on that," McHale told reporters on Friday. "Someone like John Laroquette would be great, someone like John Cleese would be terrific. I think we should mix it up and make it like Eddie Murphy or something. Jackie Chan would be great. I hope maybe it's Meryl Streep, she can do anything, she's very versatile. It'll be great to sink my teeth into."

At the "Community" Comic-Con panel following the press session, McHale joked again that Eddie Murphy will be starring in the role.

Find out who will play Jeff's dad on "Community" Season 4 when it premieres on Friday, Oct. 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
