Marvel Characters: From Northstar To Thanos, What People Are Saying About Marvel's Rising Stars (INFOGRAPHIC)

What People Are Saying About Marvel Characters

With Comic-Con in full swing -- and "The Amazing Spider-Man" smashing box office predictions -- now seems like a great time to dive into the Marvel fandom. Thankfully, Networked Insights can help when it comes to sifting the data.

The analytics software company decided to analyze a few Marvel super heroes to better understand why people are talking abou them. They analyzed four significant characters -- Ant-Man, Northstar, Thanos and Star-Lord -- and used social media data to identify what fans are talking about the most.

From the infographic below, we can see that Northstar, Marvel Comics' first openly gay hero, is a hot topic of discussion. Recently, the super speedster married his beau, Kyle Jinadu, in the pages of "Astonishing X-Men" No. 51. Forty-four percent of social media users talking about the Northstar are discussing his same-sex wedding and Marvel's decision to include it. Perhaps most interesting is that males over 25 seem to be most engaged on the topic.

As for Thanos, the Mad Titan recently appeared in "The Avengers'" post-credits scene, so it's no surprise that 53 percent of people chatting about Thanos are interested in what role he will play in "The Avengers" sequel. Females over 25 seem most interested in the wildly hyped character. Unfortunately, eight percent of people tweeting about him have mistaken him for Red Skull.

Take a look at the infographic below and tell us what you think in the comments.
