John Berman Introduces Himself To Viewers, Debuts On CNN's 'Early Start' (VIDEO)

WATCH: CNN's Newest Host Releases Unconventional Video

John Berman, CNN's newest host, has an unconventional video out to introduce himself to viewers.

Berman debuted on "Early Start" with co-anchor Zoraida Sambolin on Monday. It was announced that he was joining CNN from ABC News at the end of May. Meanwhile, former co-host Ashleigh Banfield moved to the network's daytime programming as part of a bigger shakeup.

For his video introduction, Berman shot footage of himself practicing for his wakeup call at home at 2 a.m. ("Early Start" airs at 5 a.m.) "I am so excited I could scream," the anchor whispered in the dark. "I mean, I can't scream right now because I have to whisper since my kids are asleep."

He also discussed two things that excite him about joining CNN: the "opportunity to try new things in journalism" and the network's "very inclusive policy on facial hair."

The rest of the video includes Berman's hilarious spiel on the various beards he has tried over the years. Wolf Blitzer even got in there to assess his new colleague's potential for growing facial hair.
