America's Cheapest Airports (PHOTOS)

Among America's cheapest places to fly are a number of lesser-known airports in big cities across the country, new data from airfare watchers show.

A deep survey of ticket prices from Cheapflights.com has ranked 101 airports by averaging real fares that users paid for departing flights in June 2012.

Notably absent from the top of the list for deals are major airports like New York's JFK, Washington's Dulles or San Francisco International. Those big-ticket terminals rank among some of the most expensive, though that's partially because they have so many more-expensive international departures.

So-called secondary airports are the big winners on Cheapflights' list, proving that a drive of an hour or two can save big money when shopping for airfares. Take a look at the 10 cheapest airports below -- and the major markets that are nearby.
