Dr. David Madden, Principal, Suspended For Allegedly Calling Student With Bipolar Disorder A 'Psychopath'

Dr. David Madden, a high school principal at Oxford Area High School in Oxford, Pa., has been suspended from his position after allegedly calling a student with bipolar disorder a "psychopath," NBC Philadelphia reports.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the incident occurred during a meeting with a special needs student and his mother, where student advocate Lisa Lightner witnessed a school administrator texting. The paper reports Lighter glanced at the phone and saw a message from the principal in which he called the student a "psychopath" and that he was concerned the student would become another "Hinckley, Booth and Oswald.

Further investigation later revealed Madden allegedly called the student "the biggest accident waiting to happen" and "the inspiration for the CSI show on school killing sprees ..." in an email, the Inquirer reports.

WTXF-TV reports Madden was suspended following an investigation into the incident, but the school board later voted 6-3 to reinstated him. One of the conditions of his reinstatement, however, is that he will no longer be allowed to work with special-needs students.
