American Crossroads Launches Ad Buy Defending Mitt Romney From Business Attacks

Rove-Linked Group Comes To Mitt's Defense

American Crossroads, the pro-GOP super PAC co-founded by Karl Rove, is coming to Mitt Romney's defense to the tune of $9.3 million.

The group is making a new ad buy starting Friday for about 11 days in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.

"What happened to Barack Obama?" a female narrator says in the ad. "The press, and even Democrats, say his attacks on Mitt Romney's business record are 'misleading, unfair and untrue,' 'blowing smoke,' 'too far,' 'no evidence.'"

This is the first Crossroads ad to come to Romney's defense.

Crossroads and its sister organization, Crossroads GPS, the latter of which does not disclose its donors, plan to spend up to $300 million this election cycle, according to Politico.
