Angelo Sharpless Dunk: Division II Player Throws Down Incredible Slam (VIDEO)

WATCH: Early Dunk Of The Year Candidate

With the NBA offseason in full swing, noteworthy basketball highlights usually come few and far between. Luckily this year we have Team USA to provide some gems this summer. But sometimes we have to look elsewhere to get that basketball fix in July and August.

Over the weekend, Division II guard Angelo Sharpless made an incredible highlight-reel dunk that may not just be the best of the summer, but maybe the year.

Playing at a Ben Wallace Pro-Am league in Richmond, Va., the Elizabeth City State University star got the ball on a fast break and went one on one with a defender. When Sharpless dribbled to the free throw line, he bounced the ball high off the floor and over the defender's head. Then he ran around him, jumped up and threw down a one-handed reverse dunk.

Blake Griffin has some competition this year.
