India Sanchez Hidalgo, Identity Theft Suspect, Busted After Papa John's Ordering Pizza

A Louisville, Ky. woman ordered a pizza and got arrested.

India Sanchez Hidalgo, 23, placed an order for a Papa John's pie, using what was apparently a stolen credit card. Instead of dispatching a delivery-person, the fast-food chain alerted the police who showed up, sans tasty snack, at Hidalgo's door, according to WDRB.

The police soon discovered more than 50 credit card numbers in her purse, according to WDRB. Officers reportedly found the credit card numbers along with names, addresses and telephone numbers of Hidalgo's victims. She was charged with a felony.

It's been a bad week for some identity thieves. On Saturday, Matthew Frombach, a 37-year-old identity theft suspect, was arrested after running into his victim at an Oregon bank where Frombach tried to cash a forged check.

Identity theft is a headache and can affect you in a number of different ways. The Federal Trade Commission, which reported that credit card fraud accounts for 14 percent of identity theft complaints, warns that you should never loan your credit cards, leave cards or receipts out in the open or give your account number over the phone unless you know the source is reputable.

Online identity theft has increased by 300 percent since 2010, according to a report by credit firm Experian. Recently, an international credit card fraud ring was brought down by the FBI when nearly two dozen alleged hackers, who had information on 400,000 people, were arrested across 13 countries.
