LONDON (AP) — British police investigating alleged computer hacking arrested a journalist for The Sun tabloid newspaper in London, officials said Thursday.

The 35-year-old journalist was arrested early Thursday at his home in North London on suspicion of handling stolen goods and is being questioned at a central London police station, Scotland Yard said.

Rupert Murdoch's News International media group confirmed that the suspect is a journalist for The Sun tabloid.

The man is the seventh suspect to be arrested under Operation Tuleta, which is looking into allegations that journalists broke into computer systems to steal information.

It is one of three parallel police investigations triggered by the tabloid phone-hacking scandal that has rocked Britain.

So far, 24 people have been arrested as part of the phone-hacking inquiry and 41 as part of a U.K. police investigation into suspected corrupt payments to officials.
