Want To Ride Shotgun With Zach Anner?

Zach Anner might have missed his chance at fame when his show, "Rollin' With Zach," was cancelled from Oprah Winfrey's OWN television network last year after just six episodes. Now, Zach is back with a new Reddit-powered travel show -- and he wants you to ride shotgun.

"Riding Shotgun With Zach Anner" is a new web series starring Anner, a comedian with cerebral palsy who pokes fun at his condition in his comedic bits. Reddit users will have the chance to pick eight cities where Anner will travel over the course of six weeks. Submissions will be accepted through Monday, July 23, at midnight via the official Zach Anner subreddit.

"I want to make a travel show that encapsulates all the awesomeness of the Reddit community," Anner wrote to Reddit users for his "Ask Me Anything" jaunt. "I want to incorporate your unique perspectives and experiences. And I want you guys to both guide the journey AND experience it with me."

Although Anner's OWN show -- which he scored after winning "Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search for the Next TV Star" -- was cancelled due to poor ratings, the comedian is not wasting any time moping over the past.

"It was cancelled after 6 episodes, but I had a great time and still got more shows than that Paul Reiser thing so I feel pretty good about it," Anner responded on Reddit. "It came down to ratings. A lot of people didn't have the channel. Plus, I insisted that if I got a second season that I'd do it entirely in Spanish and in space."

Redditors have loved Anner since the OWN competition. They even rallied behind him when a vote-rigging controversy almost sullied his win.

So, getting the Reddit community involved in his comeback was a key component for Anner.

“[Reddit users] weren’t able to be included in the making, which I felt was really important," he told Mashable's Christine Erickson when discussing the OWN show. "It’s why I got there in the first place -- because they could support this thing that they believe in. If you eliminate that part of interactivity, that’s less exciting for people who have been championing you all along.”
