A couple's special day took a turn for the worse in Shandong Province, China, when two of the wedding party's cars plummeted 10 meters into a river after a bridge collapsed.
The BBC reports the groom was headed to pick up his bride for the ceremony. While his car successfully crossed the river, the two vehicles following him slipped into the river below when the bridge gave way.
All of the passengers managed to swim to safety, but the driver of one of the cars had to be rescued from the crushed vehicle. The river banks continued to collapse after rescuers successfully freed the trapped man.
According to the Telegraph, the driver survived, sustaining a head wound and bone fractures.
