Was the "24" movie just a rumor that got blown out of proportion? Not according to Kiefer Sutherland.
"We didn’t have a script ready for that until very close to the end of ‘Touch,’" Sutherland explained at the Fox Television Critics Assocation party. "We knew we were coming back so there was a very finite window for me to make the film, to try to prep it, cast it and all of those other things. It was just unrealistic for Fox to try and make it, so they pushed it for next break.”
When Sutherland spoke about the film in March, he admitted it had been a challenge.
"It's been something that I've wanted to do for a very long time," he told HuffPost. "It's also unbelievably hard to write. We finally got a script that we absolutely love, but there are so many moving parts. There are actors that we want to get that might not be available. We have to find the perfect director."
So is Sutherland worried fans will lose interest in the film if it isn't released until 2014? Not in the least. "I think we can make a great film," he said at the Fox party. "I mean, I don’t want to do it with a cane, but we’ll see. We’ll see what happens.”
