"The Bachelorette" star Emily Maynard and fiance Jef Holm were seen together in public for the first time yesterday, holding hands and smiling in New York City, but Emily's friends warn this relationship will never last, as Maynard is not the person we all saw on TV.
“I hate to say that because I'm friends with Emily, but to put a kid on there really takes away from the dynamic of the show and the drama," past contestant David Good told me. "She wants to be so good and proper for her kid, which is great, but it takes away a lot from the show."
“It sucks saying that, because I’m friends with Emily. We have done a couple of charity events together, we have hung out and talked on the phone -- we just became friends through this whole 'Bachelor' franchise thing," he added. "I have not had sex with Emily or kissed her. We are just friends.”
So if Emily was just putting on a show on camera for her daughter, and that’s the girl Jef thinks he proposed to, who is the real Emily?
“When she’s not around the cameras she lets her hair down. She’s a lot of fun. She jokes around ... she’s not so proper or ladylike," Good said.
"Emily, when she drinks a little bit, comes out of her shell. A lot of people didn’t get to see how much fun Emily actually is, because she wanted to be so proper, [and was] so worried about her image,” he explained. “When somebody does that, they are not themselves. You never get to really see who they are and we didn’t get to see any other side of Emily apart from the mom. I don’t see her with any of those guys. I know that Jef proposed to her, but I don’t see them lasting very long."
