Kristen Stewart's Boyfriend In 'Cali': Alex Pettyfer

Kristen Stewart's personal life may be in shambles at the moment, but her professional one is going just fine. According to Variety, Stewart has helped cast her onscreen beau in the upcoming film, "Cali": "Magic Mike" star Alex Pettyfer is in final negotiations for the role.

The film -- a thriller about a couple who fake a snuff film, sell the video and run away with the money, only to get drawn back to their California home years later -- is Stewart's first project as a credited producer.

"Hopefully after all of this we can go and we can do it in the summer, like lock ourselves away for a few weeks in the Valley [in L.A.] in a little production office and get together really weird, freaky actor people," Stewart told MTV during the press rounds for "Snow White and the Huntsman," her recent summer blockbuster. "It's filled with like the coolest characters."

Stewart called the film "extremely violent [and] extremely funny." Nick Cassavetes ("The Notebook") is on board to direct.

Of course, "Cali" probably isn't the first thing on Stewart's mind a the moment. The actress is embroiled in a scandal after photographs were published in Us Weekly that showed her kissing "Snow White" director Rupert Sanders. Stewart, who has been not-so-secretly dating her "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson, acknowledged the indiscretion in an statement on Wednesday.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she said. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
