'Fringe': John Noble's Sleep Disorder Halts Season 5 Production

The fifth and final season of "Fringe" is set to air on Fox this September. But production has been halted for at least nine days with John Noble -- who plays scientist Walter Bishop on the supernatural series -- being treated for a sleep disorder.

According to THR, Noble was first reported feeling "under the weather" on Monday, with the diagnosis of his sleep disorder coming shortly afterward. If all goes according to plan, production will continue in early August.

While the show's stars may be itching to get back to filming, they're not exactly dying to know how the series will conclude.

"This year, Joel Wyman, who is our executive producer, has been kind of shockingly forthcoming, because our show is usually pretty impenetrable," Joshua Jackson, who stars in the series, said at Comic-Con. "But this is the last year, and I guess it's a new leaf. He was like, 'I want everybody engaged. I want everybody to know exactly what they're doing.'"

"Fringe," which premiered on Fox in 2008, stars Jackson, Noble and Anna Torv and centers on the FBI's "Fringe Division," which investigates events surrounding a parrellel universe. The fifth and final season premieres Fri., Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
