Murders just didn't happen in this small Wisconsin town when Tracy Mauer's body was found in her home brutally stabbed. Her story was told on the latest "Nightmare Next Door" (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on ID). Through reenactments, the episode revealed the reasoning behind what at first looked like a senseless murder.
Mauer's boss Seth Louis became the primary suspect in the police investigation. But while the cops theorized he may have killed her for failing to pay for a computer he sold her, it turned out to be far more twisted than that. Mauer had found out the computer was stolen, and she'd confronted Louis, telling him she was going to the police.
So he took matters into his own hands in an attempt to avoid getting prosecuted for theft. In the end, though, he went to prison for murder, where he won't be eligible for parole until he's 70 years old.
There are more surprising reveals on "Nightmare Next Door" every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on ID.
