Olympics Schedule: Gymnastics, Swimming, Basketball Among July 31st Events To Watch

July 31: 5 Events To Watch

Here are five events from the packed schedule at the London Olympics to check out on Tuesday, July 31st:

USA vs. Tunisia: The U.S. men's basketball team is capable of putting on a good enough show to make these games worth the watch even if the result is never in doubt.

Phelps' Big Night: Michael Phelps has a big night ahead of him. He has raced in two events and came out with one silver medal. On Tuesday, he has two chances to win gold, swimming in the 200-meter butterfly and 4x200 freestyle final. He finished first in his heat on Monday and told the Associated Press that he was "pretty happy with that swim."

Gymnastics: Aly Raisman's parents had a hard time watching her all-around qualifying performance. We can only imagine how difficult it will be for them on Tuesday. The women's team final starts early and with heavy favorite Jordyn Wieber missing the cut, the gold medal might be up for grabs.

Fencing: The men's individual foil tournament goes down on Tuesday with the Round of 64 beginning at 5:30 a.m. ET. Top-ranked Italian Andrea Cassara won the 2011 World Championship and is looking for his first individual gold medal, having won bronze in the 2004 Games.

Beach Volleyball: Evening beach volleyball has been becoming a fan favorite early at the London Games. And with the top-seeded duo Emanuel Rego/Alison Cerutti of Brazil and No. 2 Phil Dalhausser/Todd Rogers of USA on the sand Tuesday night, it might be a great opportunity to tune in.
