Rachel Maddow considered the possibility of Texas turning purple after Tuesday night's result. There are more and more Latinos in Texas. It's difficult to see where Latinos and the TP have any common ground.

You have to admit, the TP candidates are giving people clear-cut choices. If you call grid-lock in Congress and pushing the economy to brink of collapse successful, their plan is working.

I'll give the tp's credit for helping to out the real messages and motivations underlying the propaganda generated by the enablers on the right: success should be measured by money, money is the reward for morality and consequently hoarding and greed are positive motivators. Conversely, the poor lack character, moral authority, and in MR's words, suffer from "cultural" inferiority that should not be encouraged. The middle class is a chimera invented to rationalize government spending and need not be protected, and children who are born in unfortunate circumstances will not develop the proper attributes to enter a productive society if they are coddled with food and educational services. Any collective endeavor that is not registered as a corporate entity is a harbinger of socialism, including wide swathes of the government's infrastructure. If the government would just handle the military and impose restrictions on individuals who threaten to undermine the social fabric that a higher power instilled into our Constitution sans the unnecessary social justice and equality amendments, and left everything else to the private sector, peace would be imposed on the rest of the world and prosperity would reign down from the boardrooms of America.

Mitt has to be the worst candidate I've ever seen in my lifetime and there were a few clunkers. The man is so afraid to take a position that might go against his party or have his own independant thought!

Mitt Romney and other gop pols might want to consider that the tea party's dictatorial demands helped create a congress that has the lowest approval rating in history. Sooner or later, even the average gop voter is going to make the connection between those two realities and begin to defect. One doesn't have to be a social scientist of sociologist to understand that whenever one extreme faction of a group usurps the power and demands total allegiance, a backlash is on the horizon. Comparing the approval ratings of the last gop "you're with us or against us" administration at the beginning to the ratings at the end should suffice as a cautionary tale.
